It is an honor to serve as our Vice Mayor.  Education is one of my true passions and I strongly believe that our Pasadena schools need more oversight and fresh leadership.  That’s why I am supporting Businesswoman Priscilla Hernandez for PUSD School Board in Trustee Area 6.

I’ve known Priscilla for many years.  She organizes the annual Preschool Fair.  She runs a vital non-profit that provides after-school education and support for children in need.

She served as a successful chair of the Pasadena Senior Commission.  I have had the opportunity to work with her on holiday projects that have benefited this wonderful city and its residents as well. In short, Priscilla Hernandez is an action-oriented individual who will roll up her sleeves and work hard to make our schools better.

As a former School Board Trustee, I know that Priscilla has the right experience to improve schools within these PUSD service areas including Pasadena and Sierra Madre.  She isn’t beholden to the agenda of any special interest groups.  She is 100% dedicated to supporting the educational needs of our children and our families.

Priscilla will bring a strong record of representation to the School Board.  She served as a Statewide Education CampaignCoalition Deputy Director for the former Governor of California.  As our new School Board Trustee, she will bring invaluable contacts and knowledge to help attract more grant monies and state funding to benefit our Pasadena schools.

Her business experience will ensure better oversight of our school district funding and more accountability for results in the classroom.

Best of all, Priscilla is a doer—not a talker.  When she learned about the health issues affecting students, like her son Zacky, who suffer from severe food allergies, she took action by initiating new state legislation to address their concerns.

The PUSD School Board needs that kind of hands-on leadership. I am confident that Priscilla will empower our community by making sure that the concerns of parents and students are addressed by PUSD officials.

The community of Pasadena Unified deserves great schools.  Please cast your vote for Priscilla Hernandez for School Board. She’s a community advocate who will make a real difference for the future education of our children.
