A man armed with a handgun robbed a clothing store in Old Pasadena on Thursday, police said.

The crime took place about 11 a.m. at the 2nd Street clothing store, 113 W. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.

The robber entered the business through a back door and held an employee, a woman in her mid-20s, at gunpoint, according to the lieutenant.

He spoke very little during the crime, but motioned toward the business’ safe, Burgess said.

After obtaining a significant amount of cash from the sage, the robber fled through the store’s back door and ran off, he said.

The woman working at the store was not hurt.

Police said the robber was estimated to be between 20 and 25 years old. He was covered in dark clothing from head to toe, including a black hooded sweatshirt, a black beanie, a mask and black pants.

Investigating officers found a pair of gloves discarded near the crime scene they suspected may have belonged to the robber, Burgess added. Detectives planned to submit the gloves for DNA analysis.
