Hampton, Holden, Pomeroy Endorse Bailey

School Board incumbent Michelle Richardson Bailey picked up three key endorsements in her reelection campaign this week.

Outgoing School Board President Elizabeth Pomeroy, City Councilmember Tyron Hampton and Assemblymember Chris Holden have thrown their support behind Bailey.

“I enthusiastically endorse Michelle Richardson Bailey for reelection to the Board of Education,” said Pomeroy. “Her vision of equity and devotion to students is essential to PUSD.  She knows the school district well and has the organizational skills to bring people together and keep this complex enterprise moving forward in a positive spirit. Onward, Michelle.”

Bailey is squaring off against Pat Amsbry in District 3.

“PUSD Board Member Michelle Richardson Bailey cares about students and families,” said Hampton who previously serves on the school board. “She puts them first. Board Member Bailey has more than 20 years of experience working in K-12 education.”

“During the five years that Board Member Bailey has served on the school board, she has demonstrated that she is committed to doing the heavy lifting of advocating in support of all students, their families, faculty, and staff. As a fellow lifelong Pasadenan, I’m proud to endorse Board Member Michelle Richardson Bailey.”

This year the school board returns to plurality elections. The candidate with the most votes will win the election even if that candidate receives less than 50% of the vote.
