Heliogen Announces Chief Financial Officer Will Depart

Pasadena-based Heliogen, Inc. has started a formal search process to find a replacement for Sagar Kurada, who resigned as Chief Financial Officer.

The company said Kurada is assisting in the transition period. He started at Heliogen in July last year.

Alan Gahm, a finance executive with over 35 years of experience, has also been appointed as Heliogen’s Interim Chief Financial Officer effective Jan. 11, the company added.  Gahm is an expert in accounting, financial planning, operations finance, treasury, and M&A. He has previously held financial leadership positions in industrial and energy sectors at companies such as Ascend Performance Materials, Koch Industries, and Shell. During the third quarter of 2022, served as the Interim Chief Accounting Officer at Heliogen.

We wish him the best in his future endeavors,” Christie Obiaya, Chief Executive Officer of Heliogen, said. “I would also like to thank Alan for stepping into the Interim CFO role. I am confident Alan’s prior experience with Heliogen will support a smooth transition during our permanent CFO search, as we continue to execute on our strategic plan and growth initiatives.”

Heliogen also announced the promotion of Wilda Siu, currently Senior Vice President of Business Systems Transformation and Financial Operations, to the role of Chief Accounting Officer and Head of Business Systems and Information Technology. She begins that role on Jan. 26, succeeding Kelly Rosser, who has expressed her intent to resign from the role.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an M.B.A. in Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Economics from McGill University, Siu has been serving in her current capacity since September 2022. Prior to joining Heliogen, she held senior accounting and finance positions at Vizio Holding Corp.
