Historic Preservation Commission to Review City’s Preservation Activities, Accomplishments for State Report

The City’s Historic Preservation Commission will be asked to review and approve Pasadena’s Certified Local Government report on Tuesday prior to its submittal to the California Office of Historic Preservation. The report must be submitted no later than March 31.

The report is a summary of the City of Pasadena’s historic preservation activities and accomplishments for  the period of October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022.

It includes information on the City’s historic preservation program, including the designation of historic landmarks and districts, the review of development projects, and the promotion of historic preservation through public outreach and education. 

The report also includes a summary of the City’s accomplishments in historic preservation, including the completion of preservation projects, the development of preservation plans and guidelines, and the provision of technical assistance to property owners and developers. 

It is divided into several sections, including an introduction, a summary of the City’s historic preservation program, a summary of the City’s accomplishments in historic preservation, and a list of historic landmarks and districts in the City.

The CLG program is a partnership between local, state, and federal governments to promote historic preservation. The report highlights the City’s achievements in historic preservation, such as completing preservation projects, developing preservation plans and guidelines, and providing technical assistance to property owners and developers.

The Design Commission and Historic Preservation Commission is charged with review and approve the draft report, directing staff to make any changes as necessary. The final report must be submitted to the OHP by March 31, 2023. The Case Planner named for the report is Robert Keatinge.

The Historic Preservation Commission meeting will be held on March 21, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the George Ellery Hale Building – Hearing Room, 175 North Garfield Ave. (The entrance on Ramona St.)
