Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) will host on Facebook Live a COVID-19 Vaccine town hall featuring city Health Director Ying-Ying Goh from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Along with Goh, other experts expected to attend include Timothy F. Brewer, professor of medicine and epidemiology at UCLA, and Susan Chaides, project director of the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s Division of Student Support Services.
The panelists will answer questions about vaccines, timelines and the impact of the pandemic on area schools.
With infection rates and deaths declining in recent weeks, Pasadena is poised to allow more businesses to reopen, and more schools are preparing to allow students back on campus before the end of the month.
Gov. Gavin Newsom has promised school districts around the state a portion of $2 billion if they reopen in March.
The Pasadena Board of Education last week voted to reopen local schools for some students on March 30.
The town hall aims to offer an opportunity to learn more about the vaccine and provide clarity on some misconceptions.
