A homeless woman using a voucher to stay at a local motel Tuesday night was attacked and stabbed multiple times by a knife-wielding acquaintance and survived, police said.
The woman was stabbed in the head, neck, upper arm, forearm and torso at about 10:40 p.m by the assailant — a man she allegedly knows and who had reportedly stabbed her on a previous occasion, according to Lt. Sean Dawkins.
The attack was unprovoked, Dawkins said.
The woman later told police the suspect showed up and began to punch then stab her. The man fled in a sliver car, Dawkins said.
According to Dawkins, officers responding to calls for a welfare check on a bleeding woman seen wandering could not find the victim at the motel.
The victim was later located in Old Pasadena, Dawkins said.
Pasadena Fire paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment, according to Dawkins.
The suspect remains at large.
