Howard Berman Endorses Anthony Portantino

Anthony Portantino for State Senate announced today the endorsement by the Hon. Howard L. Berman, ret. Congressman. Congressman Berman served in both the State Assembly and Congress collectively for 30 years.

Mr. Berman joins State Controller Betty Yee as state leaders choosing Anthony. They join the Brady Campaign, the California Police Chiefs, the California Small Business Association and the Association of Commercial Photographers in united support behind Portantino.

“Howard Berman is one of the most respected and important political leaders in California’s rich history. Garnering his support and trust is a very humbling responsibility. Today, I get to serve on the Advisory Board of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy because of Howard Berman’s vision for open space preservation across numerous mountain ranges. He was ahead of his time and brought California along for the ride,” added Portantino.

Anthony is a former Mayor, Councilmember and State Assemblymember. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at USC and a member of the California Film Commission. Anthony is the father of two daughters, Sofia who completed her K-12 education in the district and Bella, an 8th grader.
