Tuesday morning the Pasadena Jaycees hosted the 77th edition of their annual Queen’s Breakfast as the Tournament of Roses festivities continue this season, all leading up to parade and game day on January 1. Hundreds attended today’s event at the Langham Huntington Hotel.

The Queen’s Breakfast, staged in collaboration with the Tournament of Roses, is one of the longest standing traditions for the city of Pasadena and the Pasadena Jaycees.

Present at the Breakfast were “two former Tournament Roses Presidents, and six former Pasadena JC presidents, ten former Rose Queens and ten former Rose Princesses,” said the Queen’s Breakfast Chairperson, Jihéne Ben Moussa.

Of course, this year’s court was present. 2016 Rose Queen Erika Karen Winter was there along with her full royal court, Rose Princesses Donaly Marquez, Sarah Shaklan, Natalie Hernandez-Barber, Rachelle Liu, Regina Pullens, and Bryce Bakewell.

David Ono, co-anchor for KABC7 Eyewitness News, was the Master of Ceremonies. Ono commented on how he finds it “enlightening to meet the court every year.”

“Outstanding group of young ladies,” said Ono. He joked that the young women on the court make him feel like a “failure” because they are so young and have accomplished so much already.

He also added how fun it is to converse with the previous queens and princesses, present at this year’s breakfast, about their crushes when they were queens and princesses.

The Pasadena Jaycees is the premier (ages 21-41) professional leadership organization in the Pasadena and surrounding communities. The Jaycees are involved with a variety of community, social and networking projects year round. For more information on the Pasadena Jaycees call (626) 792-5146 or visit www.pasadenajaycees.org.
