Huntington Hospital Names Caroline Balfour, VP of Revenue Cycle

Veteran healthcare administrator Caroline Balfour has joined Huntington Hospital in Pasadena as vice president of revenue cycle, according to a hospital statement.

“Cari brings extensive experience improving not just revenue cycle operations, but also staying at the forefront of evolving business models, utilizing cutting-edge technology and improving the patient experience,” said Steven Mohr, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Huntington Hospital. “We look forward to seeing the impact of her ongoing process improvements in support of our focus on delivering quality, service, and cutting-edge care.”

Balfour was Corporate Vice President of Revenue Cycle Services at KPC Health, and brings a track record of innovative process improvement and staff development initiatives, the statement said.

Balfour has a Master’s Degreein Healthcare Administration, a Bachelor’s in business management and is a certified Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma, a process improvement methodology designed to eliminate problems, remove waste and inefficiency, and improve working conditions to provide a better response to customers’ needs.

She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Administrators, and is a former president of the Orange County Claims Associations.

Balfour also spent two years as chair of the California Hospital Association Payor Relations Committee working with other California hospitals to forge improved relationships with both government and non-government payors.
