William, who has 10 million followers on social media and is a short-form video phenomenon, presented the laptops and custom t-shirts to club members and gave a Minecraft demonstration. During his visit, club members were able to ask William questions about his online experiences, and they were left enthralled by his content and viral videos.
The donation will allow hundreds of club members to develop technical skills in areas such as coding, game design, and media production under the direction of trained staff and volunteers.
“We are so excited that William chose to support the Club with his time, talents, and resources,” said Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena CEO, Lisa Cavelier. “These laptops will really help us advance our goals of keeping members engaged in our programs and offering them opportunities to develop ‘hard skills’ for their careers.”
William also expressed his excitement for the club and the impact the laptops will have, saying, “The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena is an amazing place, and I look forward to seeing the kids step headfirst into technology and content creation while practicing online safety.”
The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena has been serving the community since 1937 and aims to enrich the lives of young people by enabling them to reach their full potential as productive, caring, healthy, and responsible citizens. With a focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and leadership, the club provides a safe and positive environment for kids and teens to have fun, participate in life-changing programs, make friends, and receive encouragement from caring adults.
The club operates two main clubhouses and two school-site clubhouses in the Pasadena area.
