Injured Female Hiker Hoisted Out of Eaton Canyon, Flown to Hospital for Treatment

Los Angeles County and Pasadena Fire Department crews, responding to reports of an injured hiker who had tripped and fallen in Eaton Canyon near the waterfalls Sunday afternoon, located the injured woman and directed in a helicopter to airlift her out for treatment.

The rescuers were notified at 2:36 p.m. and converged at the Eaton Canyon Nature Center at 1750 North Altadena Drive within minutes.

The 42-year-old woman was located by search teams approximately 200 yards north of the Mt. Wilson toll road bridge.

Los Angeles County Fire Department Helicopter 14 hoisted her out of the canyon and flew her to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment of her ankle injury.
