Jobs and omelets were being served up at Rose City Church on Wednesday morning at the Church’s Jobs Fair, which drew hundreds. Several employers came out and set up stands as a long line of community members formed outside. Inside the break room area, William Yee, Executive Chef of L.A. Omelet Bar, prepared omelets for those who needed a break from the job hunt.

“It’s our heart and our desire to really serve this community, take care of our neighbors,” said Rose City Church Pastor, Dan Davidson, “and one way that we get to do that is by partnering with Church Jobs Fairs and provide the opportunity for the local neighbors and the community to come and seek employment.”

Davidson added that the church was especially excited about the event this year because they’ve partnered with “other local churches and groups to come and help.” The idea being that they, in a “group effort and a community effort, meet the needs of the local people,” said Davidson.

The job fair was organized by Church Job Fairs and according to Gerhard Kramer, founder of the company, “there are job fairs that are hosted in hotels, there are job fairs that are hosted in convention centers that are great opportunities to meet employers, but my focus is to introduce people to a place of hope 365 days a year.”

There were about 30 employers present at the job fair, including, Episcopal Communities and Services, and Solar City. One of the senior recruiters from Solar City was present and mentioned they were currently searching for outside sales consultants and also field energy specialists.

Inside the break room of the church was Yee and his omelet stand. Yee patiently explained how to make an omelet, emphasizing that a perfect omelet should not have any brown on it. Aside from being the Executive Chef of L.A. Omelet Bar, Yee is also the President of the Le Cordon Bleu Alumni Association and has a YouTube channel.
