Kaiser Permanente Closing Many Southern California Clinics to Slow Coronavirus Spread

Published on Thursday, April 9, 2020 | 2:25 pm

Kaiser Permanente has temporarily closed Vision Essentials in Pasadena and many select medical offices and clinics throughout Southern California, while limiting services at other locations, as the COVID-19 emergency continues.

“The health and safety of our members is always our top priority,” Kaiser Permanente said in a statement on its website. “In an effort to limit additional exposure to COVID-19 throughout the community, we have decided to temporarily close or limit services. By doing this, we are able to coordinate care and combine much-needed medical equipment and staff while still providing high-quality care to our members.”

Kaiser Permanente has also closed all of its Target clinic locations for the meantime.

The healthcare consortium posted a list of impacted locations throughout the Southland including Antelope Valley, Downey, Kern County, Los Angeles Metro, Orange County, Panorama City, Riverside and Coachella Valley, San Bernardino County, San Diego, South Bay, West Los Angeles, and Woodland Hills and Ventura County.

To get information about other Kaiser Permanente locations, online care, or to schedule a phone or video visit, people are advised to call (833) 574-2273, use the Kaiser Permanente mobile app, or visit kp.org.

If you have a prescription waiting to be picked up at one of the closed locations, you can get your prescription filled at any Kaiser Permanente pharmacy. For mail-order pharmacy, use the Kaiser Permanente mobile app, call (866) 206-2982, or visit kp.org.
