Kidspace Launches Matching Donation Campaign

The Board of Directors at Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, supported by several major donors, has launched a $50,000 matching gift campaign where they will match all donations dollar for dollar, and help provide support for museum staff, online programming and Kidspace Museum families.

Donations will help “keep Kidspace strong” during these unprecedented times, when the museum is facing financial challenges, a page on the museum’s website specifically intended for fundraising said.

“General admission, memberships, group visit, camps and site rentals generate nearly 80 percent of the budget,” the page read. “Now, more than ever, the museum will rely on fundraising.”

Tax deductible donations to Kidspace, a 501(c)(3) public charity, can be made online through www.kidspacemuseum.wedid.it, the museum staff said.

“The museum is calling on the community and encourages everyone to consider making a donation, of any amount, to help match this 50K as quickly as possible,” the statement said. “It will take a team effort, but together we will ‘keep Kidspace strong.’ When we emerge from this period of social distancing our kids and grandkids are going to need to return to a safe, familiar place. Reopening the museum will be a huge undertaking – with your help, Kidspace will be ready.”

As the museum remains closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, Kidspace, located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., continues to offer Kidspace-at-Home programming, including virtual learning and play resources.
