Pasadena police officers are now searching for a man who they said had attacked a teenage girl and robbed her at knifepoint at Memorial Park in Pasadena Wednesday night.
The 17-year-old Los Angeles girl was walking through the park at about 6:05 p.m. when the robber grabbed her and pulled her into the mens restroom, accord to a report in Pasadena Star-News.
The report quoted Pasadena police Lt. John Luna as saying the suspect used a knife to threaten the girl, and then took her wallet with cash in it, a gold chain and her cell phone.
The robber then punched the girl in the stomach and fled through the park toward Walnut Street, Luna said.
A police description said the suspect was black, in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, of thin build and was wearing dark-colored clothing.
The girl declined to be taken to a hospital, the Star-News said.
