Education Attorney Kristine Kwong announced her campaign for the Pasadena City College Board of Trustees seat in Area 5 on Wednesday.

“Pasadena City College serves as the primary, and sometimes only, gateway toward higher education for our students. We cannot allow apathy, dysfunction, or mismanagement to keep students from succeeding. That’s why I’m running for the PCC Board of Trustees. I will ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve their dreams.”

Kwong is endorsed by the Pasadena City College Faculty Association and Local 12 – International Union of Operating Engineers.

She is also endorsed by several city council members in Temple City and one in South Pasadena.

“I feel truly blessed and humbled to have received this support from so many community leaders,” Kwong said. “Their confidence in me has inspired our campaign and given us a real boost as we build our movement.”

Kwong is a resident of South Pasadena, and a graduate of South Pasadena High School.

She serves on the Parks & Recreation Commission in South Pasadena and was formerly on the Transportation Commission. Additionally, Kwong is a current member of the diversity board at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
