Lisa Kroese and Scott Harden
Lisa Kroese and Scott Harden have qualified for the November school board elections.
According to the City Clerk’s web page, Harden qualified for District 4 on Aug. 1 and is currently running unopposed.
Kroese qualified for the District 6 election on Aug. 2.
Kroese is facing Incumbent Tina Fredericks.
Jennifer Hall Lee has qualified in District 2.
Only one prospective candidate remains. Juan Carlos Perez announced intentions to run last week and has pulled papers. As of Wednesday morning, he was not listed among the qualified candidates in the District 2 race.
The nomination period closes on Friday, August 9, at 5:00 p.m.
Nomination papers must be signed by 25 registered voters and candidates must pay $25.
The election will be held on Nov. 5. The School District holds plurality elections and the candidate with the most votes wins even if the tally does not cross the 50% mark.
The PUSD is divided into seven geographic subdistrict areas, which cover areas in Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre, and various unincorporated county pockets outside the Pasadena city limits.
The Board of Education is comprised of representatives from each of the seven geographic subdistricts.
