The Pasadena City College Faculty Association announced on Thursday that it is endorsing Kristine Kwong for the Pasadena Area Community College District Board of Trustees.
Kwong announced her campaign for the seat last week. She is a lifelong resident of South Pasadena and current chair of South Pasadena Parks and Recreation.
“Kwong’s commitment to open and transparent government coupled with her professional expertise will bring a sorely needed open-mindedness to PCC’s Board of Trustees,” the association said in a statement. “For far too long, the district has shut out the voices of campus and community stakeholders, including our faculty. The Faculty Association is confident that Kristine Kwong will improve the quality of education and serve the students, faculty, and staff at Pasadena City College and the community at large.”
Kwong is also endorsed by the Local 12 – International Union of Operating Engineers.
She is also endorsed by several city council members in Temple City and one in South Pasadena.
