LCPC’s Parent Education Program kicks off Spring Semester by adding a New Babies Class (for parents of babies born Aug to Dec 2012) and hosting a Winter Open House January 29 to 31. During Open House, guests can experience a free trial class for any of their 13 different parenting classes! Classes are available for parents of children 0-18 and include: New Babies, First Year Babies, Toddlers, Twos, 3/4s, Family Class, Parenting Elementary Children, Parenting Tweens, and Parenting Teenagers. For details on times/place, go to lacanadapc.org/parented or call Sandy at (818) 790-6708 x205.

La Canada’s Parent Education’s Program offers age-specific topics designed to guide parents through childhood challenges from preparing babies first foods to prepping for the SATs. Through open discussion parents bond over the challenges of raising children and walk away calmer and more prepared to face the daunting task of raising children in today’s world.

New parents will find advice, support and sustenance in Nanette Brown and Mary Van Amringe’s New Babies Class. The duo will lead parents of newborns in discussions on nursing and nutrition, changing family dynamics, infant safety and connecting with your infant. Group discussions allow plenty of time for parental bonding and even the youngest babies enjoy musical rug time. New Babies class starts up Tuesday, January 29, 2013 during Open House week and joins Brown’s two popular older babies’ classes in Parent Education’s acclaimed 14 class line-up.

“If it wasn’t for Parent Ed I would have gone back to my 9-to-5 job. I felt so isolated before meeting all my Mommy friends at Parent Ed,” said La Crescenta Mom Meghan Ulfeldt. “I consider class my therapy for the week, hearing you are not the only one who cries five times a week and that other babies are not sleeping through the night is heaven,” Ulfeldt added.

As the tagline boasts, “If you have a child 0-18… we have a class for you!” Parents of newborns through age five attend joint parent-and-child classes where both children and adults form lasting friendships while parents with older children attend parent-only sessions to talk over the extra set of challenges that accompany raising school-age children.
For 34 years, LCPC’s Parent Education Program has maintained its legacy of quality education and reputable staff. Currently, approximately 400 parents and children from 22 cities come to campus every week—driving within a 30 mile radius of La Canada! To find the perfect class, visit www.lacanadapc.org/parented, call (818) 790-6708 x 205, or simply stop by during Open House week.

La Cañada Presbyterian Church (LCPC) began in 1948 with 158 members and a vision to reach the world for Jesus Christ. That early church was built quite literally on faith and charity from remainder brick and an operating budget that turned just about all of its revenue into active ministry. Through 65 years of outreach, LCPC grew to 2,000 active attendees doing ministry throughout Southern California and in 40 countries around the world. In 2010, the church completed a campus expansion, which doubled its physical base for ministry and kept its historical sanctuary as the heart of the new grounds.

La Cañada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Boulevard, La Cañada. For more info, wisit www.lacanadapc.org or call (818) 790-6708.

For 33 years, LCPC’s Parent Education Program has maintained its legacy of quality education and reputable staff. Currently, the program offers 13 parent education classes per week for parents of children who are newborns through age 18. Parents of children zero through five attend Parent & Child Classes, while parents of elementary, tween and teen children attend Parent Only Classes. Approximately 400 parents and children from 22 cities come on campus every week for parent education—driving from a 30-mile radius of La Cañada.
