Live Blogging with Eddie Rivera | Dodgers Face the Rockies at the Ravine

Published on Saturday, August 22, 2020 | 5:37 pm

The Dodgers’ Dustin May will face the Rockies tonight.

Cody Bellinger never saw his home run clear the right field fence for tonight’s 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

“I didn’t see it until I was halfway to second base,” he said after the game, “and then I thought the right fielder caught it.”

Bellinger added, “The home plate celebration (in an empty ball park) felt kinda like a Wii sports game.”

Bellinger’s walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth capped a gritty team victory for the Dodgers who now own the best record in the MLB at 21-9, along with first place in the National League West.

Dustin May kept the Rockies down for at least five innings, but Colorado fought back to tie the game more than once in the game, which also saw some sterling Colorado pitching and hitting.

LA and Colorado will meet one more time in this series on Sunday afternoon.

Here’s how we blogged it:

Following a 6-2 victory over Colorado last night, the Dodgers will send Dustin May to the mound against the Rockies’ Kyle Freeland.

The Dodgers currently hold the best record in Major League baseball, at 20-9, and have won nine of their last 10 games.
