Dodgers stay three games back in the NL West Race

It could have been a lot worse on so many levels. The Giants methodically beat the Dodgers Thursday afternoon with a convincing victory, 5-0.

The Giants struck early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first. Despite the final score, the Giants had a number of additional opportunities to score, but stranded runners often. The Giants achieved the 5-0 victory with perfectly timed hitting throughout the game.

Johnny Cueto, a known Dodger killer, earned the win, to go 7-5 this season.

All star and former Cy Young Award winner David Price lasted only four innings for reliever Phil Bickford, who pitched himself into and out of a jam, walking Crawford and Solano, to get to Casali, who he struck out with the bases loaded.

The Dodgers end up three games back of the Giants, as they began the series on Tuesday.

SAN FRANCISCO—The Dodgers rocked the Giants last night, 8-0, with an elegant performance from Walker Buehler and hits from up and down the batting order.

Today’s afternoon game features David Price on the mound, against Giants hurler Johnny Cueto.

The Dodgers are currently two games behind the Giants, who they have beaten in nine of their last 11 games.

Game time is 12:45 pm.
