Pasadena’s All Saints Church will conduct hold a series of events on Sunday, June 4, to raise awareness of gun violence. The events are part of the work by the church’s Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, which was formed in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012.

The Pasadena City Council named June 2 Gun Violence Awareness Day in Pasadena to raise awareness of gun violence and to support efforts to prevent it. Residents were urged to wear orange from Friday through Sunday in remembrance of gun violence victims and survivors.

On Sunday, the church will hold a prayer vigil at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. The service will include a sermon on gun violence and a moment of silence for victims of gun violence.

The church is also encouraging people to wear orange on Sunday in support of Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Rev. Thomas Diaz, the director of connection care at All Saints Church, said that the church is committed to working to end gun violence.

“We believe that gun violence is a public health crisis, and we are committed to doing everything we can to prevent it,” Diaz said. “We hope that these events will raise awareness of the issue and inspire people to take action.”

The church’s Gun Violence Prevention Task Force is open to anyone who wants to get involved. The task force has a number of goals, including educating the community about gun violence, advocating for gun control legislation, and providing support to victims of gun violence.
