A Pasadena man in his thirties was brutally attacked and knocked unconscious by a man who kicked him in the head and chased him into the middle of Raymond Avenue in Old Pasadena on Tuesday night, police said.
The victim was walking with friends on Raymond Avenue near Holly Street around 7:44 p.m. when the assailant, described only as a black man wearing a black beanie, assaulted him without any apparent reason, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Tim Bundy.
The attacker fled into Memorial Park after leaving the victim with lacerations above his nose and other facial injuries. The impact of one stomp from the attacker made a clear shoe print on the victim’s temple, Bundy said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital by Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics with serious injuries, according to Bundy.
