[UPDATED] A man died after he was struck by two cars in East Pasadena on Monday night, police said.
The collision took place just after 8 p.m. at Sierra Madre Villa Avenue and Alameda Street, according to Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins.
Paramedics pronounced the victim, initially described as a Pasadena man in his 50s, dead at the scene, he said.
His identity was not yet released pending positive identification and notification of family by coroner’s officials.
The drivers of both the involved cars remained at the scene, Lt. William Grisafe said.
Witnesses indicated the man appeared to be lying down in the roadway prior to being struck, he said.
The cause and circumstances of the collision were being investigated by the Pasadena Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
