Police said a man snuck up from behind another man while he was walking down a street, struck him unconscious and took his cell phone.
Paramedics rushed the victim to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with head injuries, the Pasadena Police Department reported.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking southbound on the east sidewalk of El Molino Avenue, south of Elmira Street, when the attack occurred about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
“The victim obtained a glance of the suspect before he was knocked unconscious,” a Pasadena police watch commander said. “When the victim awoke his cell phone was stolen.”
The suspect was described as either a white male or light skinned Latino male, with a tattoo on his left hand.
Pasadena police asked anyone with any information regarding the strong arm robbery to call them at (626) 744-4501.
