Minutes after a 35-year-old Pasadena man was shot and critically wounded in a Christmas Day shooting, he was found by firefighters and paramedics at Fire Station 36 two blocks north of the crime scene, police said Saturday.

The man was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of multiple wounds, according to Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess.

Officers had responded to reports of shots being fired in Wheeler Lane mid-way between W. Mountain and W. Hammond Streets at 2:15 p.m. and arrived at the scene in about one minute, Burgess said.

They found evidence of a shooting but no victim. Almost immediately, the Pasadena Fire Dept. reported the victim at their station at 1140 N. Fair Oaks Ave.

Burgess said the victim was unable to provide any information about the shooting.

His current condition was not known on Saturday morning.

The incident was being investigated as an attempted homicide. Detectives were called to the scene on Friday.

Little further information can be released at this time.
