A man playing dice outside with a group of other men was shot in the leg late Monday afternoon on Summit Avenue near Hammond Street.

Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said the injury was a serious leg wound, but non-life threatening.

Hettema said police were responding to calls about a man in the group who was brandishing a gun when a 5:02 p.m. call came in that a single shot had been fired and the dice players were scattering.

The victim later presented himself for treatment at a local hospital.

He is a 41-year-old San Gabriel resident, Hettema said.

No suspect has been identified, he said. Detectives are continuing with their investigation.
