Police are searching for a man in his 50s, about five feet eight inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds, who they said took an undetermined amount of money from a 76 gas station on Glenarm Street in Pasadena early Monday.

Pasadena Police Lt. John Mercado said the suspect, described as black and weighing about 170 pounds, was armed with a handgun when he allegedly entered the 76 gas station store at 155 E. Glenarm Street, past 1:03 a.m.

“The suspect walked into the gas station, placed some items on the counter and then pointed a handgun at the cashier demanding money,” Mercado said. “The suspect took an undetermined amount of money from the cash register and fled eastbound on Marengo Avenue.”

Mercado said responding officers searched the area but did not find the suspect.  The cashier, a 22-year-old man from Los Angeles, was not hurt during the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is advised to call the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4501.
