A 65-year-old Pasadena man who was struck and severely injured by a car last week has succumbed to his injuries, police said Wednesday.

The man was initially listed in grave condition at a hospital following the collision, which took place at about 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 6 along Corson Street, between Hudson and Lake avenues, Pasadena police officials said.

After three days on life support, he was pronounced dead at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Russo said.

The man was walking north across Corson Street when one car swerved to avoid hitting him. But the driver of a Ford Mustang was unable to avoid a collision, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said at the time. The driver remained at the scene, and no crime was initially suspected.

The identity of the victim had not yet been released by coroner’s officials.

Any witnesses, or anyone with information, can reach the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4501.
