Man Struck by Multiple Vehicles Sunday Night On 210 Freeway At Lake After Falling From Overpass; All Lanes Now Reopened

[Updated Monday at 8:21 a.m.] The westbound 210 Freeway at Lake Avenue was shut down for hours early Monday as authorities investigated the death of a man who was struck and dismembered by several vehicles Sunday night.

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday, CHP Officer M. Garcia reports the unidentified man was walking on the Lake Avenue overpass and climbed over the east side gate, onto the highway signs above the westbound I-210 (Foothill Freeway). He fell or jumped and landed in the 210’s #2 lane, where multiple passing motorists struck him.

He was pronounced deceased on scene.

The cause of this incident is still under investigation by CHP Officer M. Garcia, ID #21978. The public is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol, Altadena Area Office, at 626-296-8100, with any information regarding this incident.

All lanes on the 210 Freeway have been reopened.
