[UPDATED] A man was seriously wounded, but is expected to survive, following a shooting in a residential neighborhood near Robinson Park in Pasadena on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting was first reported about 5:15 p.m. in the 100 block of West Hammond Street, near Kirkwood Avenue, Pasadena police Lt. William Grisafe said.
Officers initially found spent bullet casings, but no victims at the scene, officials said. A man in his 20s was brought to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds a short time later.
The man was hospitalized with injuries described as serious, but not believed to be life-threatening, according to Grisafe.
No further details, including a suspect description, were available.
Two women detained near the scene were ultimately arrested after police discovered one was carrying a handgun, and the other was carrying two, Lt. Sean Dawkins said. It was not immediately clear whether they played a role in the shooting.
