Seven Maranatha High School students were recently notified of their Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, for the West Art Region-at-Large. According to their website, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual and literary arts including writers, filmmakers and photographers, poets and sculptors, video game artists, and science fiction writers. The program has an impressive legacy of being the first to acknowledge creative talent and is today’s largest source of scholarships for creative teens.

The following seven Maranatha students won gold, silver, and honorable mention for their submissions. Some of these students are waiting to hear from design schools and universities to which they have submitted portfolios for admission, so this is a boost of encouragement as they wait for March/April decisions.

The Gold Key award winners will go on to a national competition, with potential scholarship awards.
