Maranatha High School’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that John Rouse has assumed the role of Head of School. Mr. Rouse has been with Maranatha for 37 years, having served as Principal for the past three years. Maranatha High School’s administration is confident that God will use Mr. Rouse’s steady hand of leadership to guide the school into the future. His love for the school and commitment to providing a Christ-centered program for Maranatha’s students, teachers, staff, and the entire school community have been steadfast throughout his many years at MHS.

Mr. Rouse is no stranger to Maranatha and its mission – to be an evangelical college preparatory school that equips the hearts and minds of its students to reflect God’s glory. In fact, he has devoted most of his career to the school, having faithfully served the MHS community since 1981 and earning him the esteemed title, “Mr. Maranatha.” He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from California State University, Los Angeles, followed by a Master’s Degree in Education/School Administration from Azusa Pacific University. While at Maranatha, Mr. Rouse has served in numerous capacities, including Director of Admissions and most recently as Principal, and continues to be excited to work with the school’s esteemed faculty and administrators to impact lives for Christ through academics, arts, and athletic programs offered at Maranatha.

“Maranatha’s most important priority remains the same,” shared Mr. Rouse, “providing a learning environment that celebrates our students’ unique abilities and talents through relationships with faculty and staff, and equipping each and every student to grow in their identity as young adults and to be passionate about their faith in Christ.”

Maranatha High School considers it a privilege to help prepare young men and women to be well-rounded young adults, ready to succeed in their college experiences and in the life that God is calling them to lead – to make a difference in this world for Christ.
