Two men carjacked and robbed a marijuana delivery driver at gunpoint after the victim made a delivery near Washington Park on Friday night, police said.

The crime took place about 9:50 p.m. in the area of El Molino Avenue and Prescott Street, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.

The victim, a 29-year-old San Gabriel man employed by a marijuana delivery service, had just dropped off an order and was getting back into his car when he was approached by two men, one of them brandishing a handgun.

They demanded the victim’s money, which he handed over, then ordered him out of the car, according to the lieutenant. Both then fled in the victim’s car.

Officers found the vehicle abandoned in a parking lot at the Rose Bowl a short time later, Burgess said. An undetermined amount of marijuana had been taken from inside it.

Police said the delivery driver suffered no injuries during the incident.

A detailed description of the carjackers was not available Saturday.
