Dear Neighbors and Friends:

I trust this message finds you and your loved ones well, healthy, and safe.

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very happy and safe holiday season. I also wanted to share with you a few brief updates.

As our office assisted in the distribution of over 1,500 turkeys to residents and community-serving organizations this past week, I was reminded of the importance of sharing gratitude and remembering our interconnectedness, and how events such as these bring our community together. I am thankful for this community of ours, one filled with residents, organizations, faith communities, local businesses, city staff, institutions, and neighbors such as yourselves, that look out for and support one another always.

This past Monday, City Manager Miguel Márquez announced the appointment of two new executive team members. Please join me in welcoming Eugene Harris, our new Chief of Police, and Sidney Jackson, our new General Manager for Pasadena Water & Power. The selection process for both positions was robust, inclusive, and extensive. I am confident both Chief Harris and Mr. Jackson will serve our community well. Both will begin their service in early January 2023.

While we look forward to this new chapter for our City, I want to thank interim Police Chief Jason Clawson and interim General Manager Jeffrey Kightlinger for stepping in and leading their respective departments during this challenging time. We are grateful for their service and their continued efforts to keep our community safe and the lights on. Thank you Chief Clawson! Thank you General Manager Kightlinger!

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with your concerns, questions, or suggestions.

Mayor Victor M. Gordo
