Messiah/MesÃas began its life in 1912 as Svenska Evangelisk Lutherska Trefaldighets Forsamlingen i Pasadena California, a Swedish-speaking congregation. The name later changed to Trinity Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church, and in 1933 it became Messiah Lutheran Church. Swedish-language services continued until 1938. Worship has been held in the current church building at Madison and Orange Grove since its construction and dedication in 1925.
A century after its founding, Messiah/MesÃas continues a bilingual and multicultural tradition. Carrying out its mission as a neighborhood church, it conducts weekly Sunday services in English at 10:00a.m. and Spanish at noon.
