Pasadena-based Gigajot Technology Inc., has expanded its headquarters with the leasing of 3,257 square-feet at the Gateway Metro Center, 3452 E. Foothill Blvd.

The image processing and microchip manufacturing firm, founded in 2017, used to sublet 100 square-feet at 2947 Bradley Street, Suite 130.

Avison Young Inc., facilitated the three-year lease for Gigajot, according to a report in the LA Business Journal.

“Despite the low vacancy and landlord-favorable market in Pasadena, we were able to identify a space that was an ideal fit for Gigajot’s needs, moving the company in within 10 days of signing the lease,” Kevin Carroll, an Avison Young associate, told the Business Journal.

The building’s owner reportedly made upgrades to accommodate the design and testing of microchips.

Based on commercial real estate rates in Pasadena, Gigajot will pay in the order of $3.30 per square foot monthly for the Gateway Metro Center space, or roughly $390,000 over three years.

Gigajot Technology Inc. develops quanta image sensors, which use single photon detection technology to unlock new image capture capabilities for consumers and professionals.

It also provides image processing services for scientific, medical, computational, and space imaging, security and defense, low-light photography and videography, automotive sensing, 3-D sensing, and encryption.

The move to Gateway Metro Center could mean the company is in the market for more hires.
