Prosecutors filed a murder charge Wednesday against a man accused of stabbing and killing another man in a Pasadena parking lot over the weekend, authorities said.
Enrique Antonio Real, 19, of Baldwin Park, was arrested shortly after the fatal stabbing, which took place about 8:15 p.m. Friday outside a CVS Pharmacy at Orange Grove Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue, according to Pasadena police officials and Los Angeles County booking records.
Christopher Flores, 30, of Altadena died following the attack, according to Pasadena police Lt. Jesse Carrillo.
“The investigation revealed the victim and suspect knew each other, however, the motive for the stabbing of victim Flores requires further follow up by detectives,” the lieutenant said in a written statement. No further details regarding the circumstances of the stabbing were released.
Flores was taken to a hospital after police and paramedics responded to “multiple calls” reporting the attack, Carrillo said.
Real, who matched descriptions provided by witnesses, was found trying to leave the area and taken into custody, Lt. Carolyn Gordon said at the time.
Prosecutors at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed a count of murder against Flores Wednesday, according to Carrillo.
Bail for Real was set at $2 million pending legal proceedings in Los Angeles County Superior Court, records show. He was scheduled to make an appearance Wednesday in the court’s Pasadena branch, however, the outcome was not available Wednesday afternoon.
