Mylar Balloon Triggers Power Outage in Northwest Pasadena

A power outage caused by a Mylar balloon affected nearly 1,200 homes and businesses in Northwest Pasadena on Tuesday morning.

A total of 1,187 Pasadena Water and Power customers lost service at about 10 a.m., according to PWP officials.

All customers had their power restored by 11:06 a.m., according to the utility.

The outage was caused by a Mylar balloon coming into contact with power lines, officials said.
