New Storm Adds Gusty Wind to the Mix

Another in a series of storms will hit Pasadena this week, with a chance of light rain arriving Monday but almost certainly on Tuesday and intensifying over the following days, forecasters said.

Monday — the first day of spring — will be cloudy and cool, then a strong storm will likely bring heavier rain and winds through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The heaviest precipitation and winds will occur on Tuesday morning and last for about 3 to 6 hours. Rainfall totals for Tuesday through Wednesday are expected to be ½ to ¾ of an inch.

Strong and possibly damaging winds will accompany the storm on Tuesday as well. Pasadena could see 40 mph gusts.

The weather system will bring colder temperatures to the area too, with daytime highs dropping into the midupper 50s Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dry weather should return by Thursday and last through next weekend, accompanied by a very slight warming trend

Monday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Rain likely after 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. South southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Rain. High near 56. Windy, with a south southwest wind 10 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 30 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Tuesday Night: Rain. Low around 43. Windy, with a southwest wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Rain. High near 54. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
