Although there are several scheduled updates left on the voting update schedule, Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan is close to completing the count from the Nov. 3 election.

According to the latest update, there are 66,245 votes remaining to be counted.

The estimate has been adjusted based on valid vote-by-mail ballots received and the estimated number of ballots returned at vote centers and official drop boxes on Election Day.

The estimate includes 35,000 vote-by-mail ballots, 25,790 conditional voter registration ballots, 735 provisional ballots, and 4,720 miscellaneous ballots.

Vote-by-mail ballots will be accepted until tomorrow if they are postmarked by Election Day.

Pasadena Mayor-elect Victor Gordo maintains a 6,501 lead over incumbent Mayor Terry Tornek. Gordo has 36,963 votes to Tornek’s 30,462 ballots.

Gordo will be sworn in on Dec. 7 along with incumbent Councilmembers Tyron Hampton, Gene Masuda and Steve Madison, who won primary elections in March. New Councilmember Felicia Williams will also be sworn in.

Two new school board members will join the Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education.

In the District 2 seat, Jennifer Hall Lee defeated Wayne Hammack and Mike Crowley. Lee captured 6,704 votes.

Hammock and Crowley took 4,185 and 3,966 votes, respectively.

In District 4, School Board President Patrick Cahalan cruised to victory with 6,625 votes. His opponent Scott Harden captured 3,752 votes. Cahalan was the only incumbent in any of the three races.

In District 6, Tina Wu Fredericks defeated three opponents to take a seat on the school board. Fredericks captured 5,016 votes, while Priscilla Hernandez, Crystal Czubernat and Milena Albert picked up 3,912, 3,475, 1,186 votes, respectively.

Neither Lee nor Fredericks picked up 50 percent of the vote. The district moved to a plurality vote system, meaning candidates could win without garnering 50 percent of the ballots cast.

The eighth results update will be released Friday, Nov. 20.

Three additional updates are scheduled for next week.
