Pasadena’s official ribbon cutting for its Storefront Improvement Program was held on April 8. The program was implemented to help local business owners create attractive and commercial viable buildings.

The Storefront Improvement Program is administered by the Northwest Programs and Economic Development divisions of the Pasadena Planning and Development Department.  The divisions work in tandem to stimulate economic development in areas that need job growth and private investment.

As City Officials and observers started to arrive, building owner Linda Lane-White spoke about the renovation process.  A video was shown that featured the before-and-after pictures of the project.

When Lane-White initially learned about Storefront Improvement Program, she  immediately wanted to learn more.  She called to ask questions and then became the first receipient of funds for this program.

Lane-White says she couldn’t be more appreciative towards the City of Pasadena and their phenomenal help throughout the construction.  She beams, “It’s a huge success!”

Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard and District 1 City Councilwoman Jacque Robinson complimented the project and improvement that was made and then participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
