Ohio Buckeyes and Utah Utes Welcomed at Disneyland Before Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s Day

The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Utah Utes visited Disneyland Resort on Monday ahead of the Rose Bowl game.

The two teams were welcomed with a parade and carriage rides down the Main Street, according to Disneyland Resort’s press release.

Teams participating in the Rose Bowl game traditionally visit Disneyland before the game starts.

Featured in the parade were Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and quarterback CJ Stroud, offensive lineman Dawand Jones, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and safety Bryson Shaw.

Also featured were Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham along with Utah players: quarterback Cameron Rising, wide receiver Britain Covey, linebacker Devin Lloyd, and defensive end Mika Tafua.

The two teams made the visit to the magic kingdom despite a surge in the Coronavirus that has forced the cancellation of some bowl games.

“I’m confident. I’m hoping that everything will continue on this course. We seem to be doing okay as a team, knock on wood, and expecting Ohio State to do the same,” said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham in media reports. “Hopefully, the Rose Bowl will go off with no hitches.”

The Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band also joined the parade.

The teams will face off in the 108th Rose Bowl Game on Saturday, Jan. 1.
