Online Auction to Benefit Pasadena NAACP, Black Lives Matter

A Pasadena gift shop is planning to launch an online auction Thursday to raise money for the Pasadena NAACP and Black Lives Matter.

Items will be listed on the Instagram feed of Homage, owned by Jill Pearsons, who is organizing the event.

Having organized numerous in-person auctions in the past, Pearson said she drew inspiration from other online auctions she has seen.

“We all want to do something to help end racism and keep the momentum going,” she said. “Organizing auctions and bringing community together is something I know how to do.”

The more than 50 available auction items will begin appearing on the Instagram feed at 3 p.m. Thursday, along with the item’s value and recognition of the donor, Pearson said. Bidders can simply post their offers in the comments. The auction will end on Monday at 8 p.m.

More than 50 items have been donated for the auction from local businesses, as well as local artists and individual community members. They include jewelry, art, wine packages, home decor and more.

More information is available on Homage’s website.
