Operating Hours at Coronavirus Testing Sites Could Change Again

Published on Thursday, June 4, 2020 | 1:13 pm

As Los Angeles County lifts curfew orders, the county Department of Public Health said safety concerns prompted by continuing protest marches will result in modified operating hours starting Thursday at some COVID-19 testing sites, including those in Pasadena.

Residents with an appointment at an impacted testing site will be notified via email to reschedule. For residents who did not provide an email, a notification will be made via a phone call.

In Pasadena, the ChapCare’s Kathryn Barger Health Center, located at 1595 N. Lake Ave., has been operating limited hours due to the curfew and protests.

Information posted on the City’s Department of Public Health webpage shows diagnostic testing is available at several other Pasadena locations, including the CVS located at 3883 E. Foothill Blvd. The site is offering drive-thru COVID-19 testing to all those experiencing symptoms and individuals 65 and older, or who have chronic, underlying health conditions.

Appointments are required and can be scheduled at www.CVS.com. Insurance is accepted, and there should be no out-of-pocket costs; however, you should check with your insurance provider before scheduling a test. If you do not have insurance, bring your Social Security number (card not needed), driver’s license or state ID with you.

Exer Urgent Care, located at 3160 E. Del Mar Blvd., Suite 110, also offers COVID-19 testing to all those experiencing symptoms and individuals 65 and older, or who have chronic, underlying health conditions. Appointments are not necessary, but testing is only available for patients who have been screened and received a testing referral from a provider through VirtualCare by Exer or at one of their clinics.
