Parsons is pleased to announce that Jonathan Fitz-Enz, vice president of government security, was recently appointed to the position of chairman of the Community Association of Information Systems Security – Working Group (CAISSWG)—an industry forum where contractors, intelligence community (IC) government information security professionals, and policymakers come together to address issues and processes related to the accreditation and operation of classified computers and networks.
Mr. Fitz-Enz joined Parsons in 2012, and he manages Parsons’ government security program under which the corporation has established a common set of standards, processes, and procedures that have been adopted by all facilities and programs that require access to U.S. government classified and controlled unclassified information.
“Parsons is pleased that Jonathan has been recognized for his leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of information systems security by CAISSWG,†stated Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president. “We congratulate him on his election and look forward to supporting him as he guides the group in the coming year.â€
Mr. Fitz-Enz has been a member of CAISSWG since 1997 and has held a position on the board spanning four 2-year terms. In addition, he has led several working groups—the conference planning committee, the controlled unclassified information policy review working group, the mobile technology working group, and the policy working group—over the years.
CAISSWG is an all-volunteer industry working group with more than 600 members consisting of certification and accreditation security professionals working in the IC with the responsibility for the security, operation, and oversight of IC classified systems. The CAISSWG’s objectives are to provide a forum for the sharing of best practices for the protection of classified computer networks, influence national-level policy, educate information security professionals, and represent industries to the director of national intelligence on information security certification and accreditation matters.
