Philadelphia-based Fitness Machine Technicians, a company specializing in the maintenance and repair of exercise equipment for commercial and residential customers, has opened a branch in Pasadena to service the Greater Los Angeles area, including the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, Downtown Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu, Encino, Thousand Oaks, and North Hollywood.

Pasadena residents Toutoule and Carly Ntoya will own and manage the local office.

Fitness Machine Technicians operates more than 70 markets across the U.S. They offer maintenance and repair services on exercise equipment such as treadmills, exercise bikes, ellipticals, and stepper machines, as well as commercial and residential assembly and disassembly services when removal or setup of fitness units is needed.

“It can be incredibly frustrating to go to the gym or fitness center and find your favorite piece of equipment in disrepair — it puts a wrench in your workout routine and is detrimental to the gym, too,” Toutoule Ntoya said. “That’s where we come in — it’s our goal to provide the Greater Los Angeles area with the best fitness equipment repair and maintenance service to keep customers and clients thriving.”

Carly Ntoya is a lifelong Pasadena resident. She received her bachelor of arts degree from USC and currently works as a human resources director. She holds a Ph.D. in industrial organizational psychology from Alliant International University – Los Angeles.

“With many residents currently rediscovering their at-home fitness equipment, we’re ready to help fellow Angelenos get back up and running with tuneups and other needed maintenance on their machines,” she said.

Toutoule grew up in the San Fernando Valley and received his bachelor of science degree from Oregon Institute of Technology and his master’s degree in education from Azusa Pacific University. He earned his Ed.D. in education leadership from USC and began an education consulting business working with schools in the area.

The Ntoyas said they plan to hire local technicians over the next year as the business grows. All technicians are trained at Fitness Machine Technicians’ headquarters in Philadelphia.
