Pasadena Celebrates Latino Heritage Month

Join the City of Pasadena and the Latino Heritage Committee for Pasadena’s 23rd annual Latino Heritage Celebration. Due to COVID-19, this year’s celebration does not include a parade or festival, but instead features an entire month of FREE, family-friendly virtual and outdoor events. All events comply with Pasadena Public Health Department COVID-19 protocols:

Virtual Event: Make Your Own Piñata
Saturday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m.
Let’s make a piñata! Participants will craft a handmade piñata which is sure to be the highlight of your next fiesta! Art kits will be available for pick-up for registered participants at Villa Parke Community Center. Register now at cityofpasadena.net/reserve.

“Selena” – Movie in the Park
Saturday, Oct. 2, Villa Parke, 363 E. Villa St., movie begins at dusk
Join us for “Selena” at Villa Parke! The movie is based on the true story of singer-songwriter Selena Quintanilla-Perez and stars Jennifer Lopez. Bring your blanket, lawn chairs, and enjoy food available for purchase. Come early to participate in our Selena costume contest! Register now at cityofpasadena.net/reserve.

Paint and Aguas Frescas

Saturday, Oct. 9, 3 p.m., Villa Parke, 363 E. Villa St.

Join us for paint and aguas frescas! Participants will have the opportunity to create their very own painting while enjoying a tasty cantarito of agua fresca! Art kits and aguas will be provided. Participants will paint under the instruction of an experienced artist. Register now at cityofpasadena.net/reserve.

Latino Heritage Concert in the Park

Saturday, Oct. 16, 5 p.m., Memorial Park, 85 E. Holly St.

¡Bailemos! Let’s dance! Latino Heritage would not be complete without a celebration of Latin music! Join us for a live music celebration at the Memorial Park Bandshell. Dance to traditional hits with strong salsa beats. This is a great event for the whole family. Bring your blanket, lawn chairs, and dancing shoes! Register now at cityofpasadena.net/reserve.

Virtual Event: Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Sugar Skull Craft
Saturday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m.
Participants will follow step-by-step instructions to create a fun and unique calavera. Art kits will be available for pick-up for registered participants at Villa Parke Community Center. Registration opens Oct. 1: cityofpasadena.net/reserve
