The Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) is set to host its annual “Celebrating Our Schools” event on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pasadena City Hall Courtyard.

This year’s event, titled “IMAGINE 2024,” will feature an interactive student showcase highlighting the outstanding students and remarkable programs of the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD).

The evening will also honor Jane Kaczmarek, an award-winning actor best known for her role in TV’s “Malcolm in the Middle.” Kaczmarek, a committed advocate for public education and the arts, serves as a mentor, philanthropist, and PEF Board Member.

Foundation officials have said that the “Celebrating Our Schools IMAGINE 2024” event is a significant occasion that brings together the Altadena, Pasadena and Sierra Madre communities to support and celebrate the achievements of PUSD students and educators. They noted that it offers an opportunity for attendees to experience firsthand the innovative programs and talents within the school district, all while supporting the educational mission of the Pasadena Educational Foundation.

PEF raises and contributes millions of dollars to PUSD annually.

The event will begin with the interactive student showcase at 5:00 p.m., followed by a program and reception at 6:30 p.m., featuring food, drinks, and conversation in the courtyard. Tickets for the event are available for purchase, with a deadline of Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 5 p.m.

PEF, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting PUSD, has been active for over 50 years, focusing on building strong community partnerships to support public schools.

The Foundation provides essential resources and enrichment opportunities to every public school student in its service area, supporting a wide range of programs, including arts, music, health centers, gardens, and STEM programs.

In addition to the annual “Celebrating Our Schools” event, PEF supports teachers and schools through various initiatives, such as teacher grants, field trip grants, college scholarships, and summer internship stipends. The Foundation also collaborates with community partners to provide expertise, funding, resources, and volunteer opportunities to support educational programs and activities.
